Whether you are sewing pants from scratch or altering a ready-to-wear garment, choosing the correct hem can make all the difference in the garment looking designer. Learn how to hem your next pair!

Class Details

Start by learning how to mark a hem on yourself, friend, or customer.  Learn where to mark your pants for a flattering look, including when you should mark the front of the pants shorter in the front. 

Now that you know where to mark your hem, choosing the correct hem can really make a difference. Angela will cover which hem looks best on various fabrics and styles of pants.

Angela will also teach techniques and tips for sewing a professional looking:

  • Blind hem with a sewing machine or serger
  • Blind hem with a serger
  • Blind hem with a blind hem machine
  • Double fold hem
  • Hemming pants shorter in the front for a smaller break

With an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for fashion and sewing, she launched and ran a successful custom apparel and alteration business for over 18 years. She has since launched a pattern collection Angela Wolf Pattern Collection for the home sewer. Angela is the winner of 2008 Passion for Fashion, 2012 American Sewing Expo’s teacher of year, and spends her time speaking and teaching all over the country. When she is not sewing, you will find her fishing on Lake Michigan or in the Florida Keys with her husband Winn, on the Win-n-Angel!
